I’m the lighter, and you are the gasoline

In the shadows, you patiently wait, oh gaslighter, with manipulative charm and your deceptive fire.

Your elusive gaze burns like a flickering flame, as you weave your web for this twisted game.

Dousing my spirit with doubts and fear, convincing me that my heart is insincere.

You twisted my words, and you distorted the truth, leaving my trust shattered and uncouth.

Gaslighter, you revel in the chaos and confusion, feeding off the turmoil from your cunning illusion.

You whispered lies into my willing ear, blurring the lines until my reality wasn’t clear.

I refuse to be captive anymore to your deceit, I must rise above, and find strength in retreat.

For your power has always lied in my ignorance, I now refuse to dwell in this malevolent dance.

Gaslighter, your reign will soon fade away, I am reclaiming my light and forging through to brighter days.

No longer will your darkness cloud my sight, I’ve broken free from your grip and have reclaimed my rights.

So go on, gaslighter, play your wicked game, but know that in the end, I won’t be the same.

For I’ve finally learned to see through all your smoke and lies, for beneath these ashes, a phoenix will rise.
