From a dear friend:
As a mom of rambunctious boys, I have learned a thing or two about the wild and wonderful world of raising little men. Here are some of the critical lessons I’ve picked up along the way:
1. Boys have endless energy: Seriously, where do they get it all? From the moment they wake up until they finally crash into bed at night, my boys are like little tornadoes of activity. I’ve learned that keeping them entertained and engaged is critical to avoiding significant disasters (aka furniture used as jungle gyms or things exploding in the bathtub).
2. Everything is a competition: EVERYTHING. Whether it’s who can eat their dinner the fastest or who can jump the highest off the couch, boys seem to turn everything into a friendly competition. I’ve learned to embrace the competitive spirit and use it as motivation for getting things done (like cleaning up their toys in record time).
3. Roughhousing is their love language: Boys show their affection by wrestling, tackling, and generally roughhousing with each other. At first, I was a bit taken aback by this behavior, but I’ve come to realize that it’s just their way of bonding and showing affection. Plus, it’s a great way to burn off some of that endless energy.
4. Boys are fearless: Whether climbing to the top of the tallest tree in the backyard or attempting to ride their bikes down the steepest hill, boys have a daring spirit that terrifies and impresses me. I’ve learned to balance letting them explore and keeping them safe, even if it means constantly reminding them to wear helmets.
5. They have a unique sense of humor: From fart jokes to silly pranks, boys definitely have a unique sense of humor that never fails to make me laugh. I’ve learned to appreciate their quirky jokes and even join in on the fun (as long as it’s not too gross).
Being a mom of boys has taught me to embrace the chaos, appreciate the humor, and cherish the special bond that comes with raising little men. It’s a wild ride, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Savor the little moments; enjoy the smiles, giggles, and antics. They are only little for a little bit of time.

I’ve had to teach myself to embrace the boy mom chaos myself 🙂
